Le Maschere Galanti presented a pasticcio Serenata of rarely-heard vocal music and instrumental pieces by Handel, Scarlatti, Bononcini, Vivaldi and Manfredini. These pieces were all composed in the early 18th century, when serenatas and cantatas developed in response to the the sinfonia and other types of chamber ensemble music. 

 

The concert took place in the delightful Ballhaus Wedding, the perfect gilded setting for a recreation of the serenata genre.
